    The Opportunity

As a Frontend Engineer Intern at Centerfield, you'll join our engineering team building intuitive, high-performance consumer-facing web interfaces used by millions of shoppers. You'll ship real features — building new applications from scratch and extending or redesigning existing products, contributing to high-traffic sites like Savings.com.

Our team practices AI-first development: engineers act as architects who direct AI agents, custom skills, and automated workflows to deliver production software. You'll learn to go beyond out-of-the-box tools like Claude Code or Codex — building custom agents, domain knowledge systems, and review processes that turn AI into a force multiplier. We care less about clever code and more about delivering business value.

    How You'll Contribute

    • Build and ship consumer-facing web applications and features, from greenfield builds to redesigns of existing high-traffic sites.
    • Develop responsive, accessible front-end experiences using React, Next.js, and TypeScript, integrating seamlessly with back-end APIs (Node.js, Java).
    • Use and extend our custom AI development harness: agents, skills, and workflow commands to accelerate delivery.
    • Experiment with new ways to apply AI agents to real engineering problems, and share what works with the team.
    • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to turn business goals into shipped features.
    • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, build, review, ship, iterate.

    What We're Looking For

    • Genuine curiosity and open-mindedness about AI-driven development — you actively experiment with AI agents and tools, and can show us something cool you've built with them.
    • Solid understanding of modern front-end development: React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS/Tailwind.
    • Exposure to frameworks and runtimes like Next.js and Node.js.
    • Understanding of APIs and how front-ends talk to back-end services.
    • Knowledge of software fundamentals: source control and debugging.
    • Rising seniors or new graduates.
    • Local to Playa Vista HQ and willing to come into the office 3 days a week.
    • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.

    Bonus Points

    • A portfolio, repo, or demo of something you built primarily with AI agents — bonus if you customized the workflow (custom agents, skills, prompt systems, MCP servers, evals).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
    • Understanding of REST APIs and web performance.
    • Exposure to Vercel, Docker, or modern deployment tooling.

    Intern Life at Centerfield

    • This is a hybrid position — interns work in our Playa Vista, CA office every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.
    • Outside patio overlooking Playa Vista + cabanas, firepits & working grills.
    • Breakroom with games, couches, workout equipment + weekly in-office exercise classes.
    • Paid charity and volunteer days, unlimited free snacks and drinks, monthly happy hours and catered Thursday lunches.
    • Award-winning culture, monthly team outings, and career growth — we promote from within.

    The Opportunity

We are looking for a Technical Operations Specialist to join the Program Operations team in our Insurance organization. In this role, this person will serve as the primary technical point of contact for Datalot’s media and client partners, owning the end-to-end process of integration setup, onboarding, troubleshooting, and launch validation.

This role exists to reduce reliance on senior engineering resources for routine partner support and to ensure integrations move faster, with fewer escalations and less friction. This person will be the bridge between external partners and internal teams: translating technical concepts, diagnosing issues, and resolving the majority of integration questions independently.

This is the right role for someone who is technically sharp, highly organized, and takes pride in owning their work end-to-end. They do not need to be a full engineer, but should be comfortable with APIs, XML, integration troubleshooting, partner data flow, and technical documentation.

    How You'll Contribute

    Partner Onboarding & Integration
    • Lead technical onboarding for new media and client partners, managing setup from initial configuration through launch.
    • Provide hands-on API and integration support, including XML payload validation, postback URL configuration, and troubleshooting data flow issues.
    • Conduct thorough QA and launch readiness reviews to ensure all integrations are accurate and functional before go-live.

    Technical Support & Troubleshooting

    • Serve as the first line of technical support for Datalot partners and sources, resolving configuration, API, and data formatting issues without requiring engineering escalation.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot integration failures systematically: identifying patterns, comparing payloads, and isolating root causes before escalating.
    • Communicate clearly with external partners who may have limited technical knowledge, translating technical findings into actionable guidance.
    • Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations teams on issues that require deeper technical investigation.

    Documentation & Process Improvement

    • Own and maintain technical documentation including API guides, onboarding playbooks, integration specs, and troubleshooting resources.
    • Standardize setup processes and create repeatable workflows that reduce implementation time and errors.
    • Identify opportunities to automate or simplify operational workflows and proactively drive improvements.
    • Keep documentation current and accurate to reduce partner confusion and accelerate future implementations.

    What We're Looking For

    • Technical aptitude to work at the intersection of operations and engineering.
    • Interest or background in engineering, computer science, or technical problem-solving.
    • 1–3+ years of experience working directly with external technical partners or clients.
    • Comfortable reading API documentation and XML/JSON.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Strong written communication skills; able to translate technical findings into clear, actionable guidance for partners with varying levels of technical knowledge.
    • Proven ability to take ownership.
    • Experience with API testing tools is a plus.
    • Experience in performance marketing, lead generation, or affiliate marketing is a plus.

    Life at Centerfield

    • This is a remote position open to applicants who currently reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Washington.
    • Competitive salary + bonus.
    • Unlimited PTO — take a break when you need it.
    • Industry-leading medical, dental, and vision plans + generous parental leave.
    • 401(k) company match plan — fully vested on day 1.
    • Award-winning culture & unprecedented team spirit (featured in LA Business Journal & Built In LA).
    • Paid charity and volunteer days (local mentor programs, adopt a pet, beach cleanup, etc.).
    • Career growth — we enjoy promoting from within.
