Long-time friends and associates Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen decided to form Centerfield one night over a few too many beers. After Jason invested in Achieve Card (a business co-founded and chaired by Brett), Brett suggested the possibility of joining forces to build a powerhouse media company. Thankfully a week later and with a bit clearer head, Brett followed up and the rest is history. Centerfield has quickly attracted some of the best talent in the marketplace and continues to focus its efforts on building an industry leading team, developing innovative products, offering best-in-class services and expanding through organic growth initiatives and strategic acquisitions.
Jason Cohen is a well-recognized leader in the interactive marketing industry. He began his career at DoubleClick and thrived as the company's top global sales representative. An entrepreneur at heart, Jason left and founded WiseAds New Media (an early player in the niche ad network business). Jason served as CEO and was responsible for expanding the company from zero to sixty plus employees in just eighteen months. WiseAds was subsequently acquired by About.com (An IAC Company) in August of 2000. Jason served as President of MediaWhiz, a leading online direct marketing company which he founded in 2001, for which Jason was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2007. After joining forces with Brett Cravatt, he formed the advertising technology company, Centerfield Holdings in 2011. Centerfield has continually been recognized as a best place to work in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Jason is also an active Venture Partner at Cross Cut Ventures and has personally invested in successful online companies like Voicestar (exited to Marchex), Hautelook (exited to Nordstroms), and AchieveCard (exited to Greendot).
Brett Cravatt is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive in the digital advertising sector. Brett co-founded Centerfield in 2011. Prior to Centerfield, Brett founded and worked as the CEO of WebYES! During this same time period, Mr. Cravatt co-founded Achieve Financial Services, one of the fastest growing GPR debit card businesses in the prepaid industry, which was recently acquired by GreenDot (NASD: GDOT). From 2001-2006, Mr. Cravatt served as the COO of Vendare Media guiding the business from 10mm in annual revenue to over 120mm in annual revenue and 20mm in ebitda. Brett has also served on various Boards including Interclick (NASD: ICLK), which was successfully acquired by Yahoo! in 2012. Brett holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
Gary Pak serves as Centerfield's Chief Operating Officer where he is responsible for leading the company’s day-to-day business and administrative operations. Prior to becoming COO, Gary held the position of CTO and oversaw the company’s core technology products and IT. Prior to joining Centerfield in 2011, Gary was the VP of Engineering for WebYES! and was responsible for developing and scaling out their technology. From 2006 to 2008, Gary spent several years at online startup Spot Runner holding various technical management and leadership positions. He brings over 16 years of technical experience in building mission critical and enterprise level software applications.
Eugene Kovnatsky is a technology professional with over 20 years of experience both as an executive and individual contributor. At Centerfield, he serves as Chief Technology Officer responsible for company technology vision and strategy as well as all aspects of product development and support. Prior to Centerfield, Eugene held senior leadership roles at inMarket, NBC Universal and Dex Media overseeing product development efforts across multiple geo-distributed teams working on high impact, large scale projects and initiatives. Eugene holds Master’s degree in Computer Science from Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University
John Busby serves as Centerfield’s Chief Analytics Officer. A seasoned digital marketing executive, John leads the company’s data science, analytics and insights teams. Prior to joining Centerfield, John was Head of Analytics for Amazon’s grocery delivery service and responsible for business intelligence, data science and automated reporting. Prior to Amazon, John was Senior Vice President of Analytics and Marketing at Marchex. John began his career in product management for InfoSpace, Go2net and IQ Chart. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University.
Brad Green leads all financial and accounting operations at Centerfield, establishing accounting and administrative best practices within the company, and is focused on driving operational improvements. Prior to working at Centerfield, Brad was a founding member of, and oversaw the financial, human resource, legal, and administrative operations at Spruce Media, a leading Facebook Ads API Partner that was designated as one of twelve companies by Facebook to their Strategic Preferred Marketing Developer Program. Prior to Spruce, Brad led all financial functions at SocialCash and Gratis Internet. SocialCash created some of the first ad units used by Facebook application developers, and Gratis Internet was an online ad network and a pioneer in the incentive marketing industry. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from University of Illinois, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
At Centerfield, Mr. Miao manages all legal matters concerning the company. Prior to joining Centerfield, Mr. Miao practiced in the business department at Buckner, Alani & Mirkovich, where he was a member of the commercial transactions, business litigation and corporate law practice groups. Mr. Miao received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola of Los Angeles Law School, a master's degree in health administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Toro has ruled the roost at Centerfield since its inception when he was just a pup running around the office. Toro is a key contributor to enterprise level planning and decision making when he's not sleeping. Toro has inspired the entire Centerfield Team by his steadfast dedication and commitment to eating, sleeping and drooling.
