Connections Conference 2019
It was a home run at Centerfield’s Conference Connections 2019!
Earlier this month, Centerfield held its annual Connections Conference at the beautiful Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, California.
What is the Connections Conference?
“Connections Conference is an annual summit hosted by Centerfield where the brightest minds in marketing convened to share insights, exchange ideas, and have fun!”
– John Busby, Centerfield CMO
Connections 2019 opened with a Keynote Speech from David Epstein, the bestselling author of “Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World” & “The Sports Gene”. Epstein’s impactful speech drove home the idea that mastery of a field is most often done through a range of experiences rather than early specialization.” The talk explored the importance of “actively cultivating inefficiencies” and the importance of experiencing failure. The attendees were reminded to “think broadly and embrace diversity experience and perspectives” in order to continue to grow and thrive.

As the day continued, marketing leaders from AT&T, Frontier, Viasat, EarthLink, and Windstream discussed successes, challenges, and opportunities in today’s changing marketing landscape. In addition, attendees heard about Centerfield’s ongoing technology investments and had an opportunity to participate in one of our most important company values… “Giving Back”.
At the end of the day, there was a surprise special guest appearance from Lior Suchard— the Master Mentalist. Suchard took the entire audience on an amazing journey as he made incredible predictions, influenced thoughts, and miraculously read the minds of the audience. It was a performance full of laughter and fun while exploring the unlimited wonders of the human brain.
Finally, we closed the day with a fun concert from John Forgerty, who fittingly opened the show with his famous song, Centerfield.
“[Centerfield Media is] ready to play today!”

We had a great time with everyone and we’re already looking forward to Connections Conference 2020, so stay tuned to find out more!
